Your favorite book::
I have many many books that are my favorite. I LOVE reading. Without a doubt it is in my top 5 of favorite things to do! However with the idea of loving to read comes the idea of loving and having many "favorite" books.
Although I can't say I have one specific book that is my absolute favorite... I have my favorite authors...
#1:: Rachel Ann Nunes
My sister Amanda had me read one of her books way back in 10th grade. Ever since then I've been hooked. She has many series all of which I love. Although I haven't read ALL of her books (yet) I haven fallen in love with the ones I have read. She is an LDS author so you just know her books will be good and girly! Squeal!** My favorite so far is called
"In Your Place"
"Starting in the pre-existence, Rachel Ann Nunes’ novel, In Your Place, takes the reader on a journey of romance and possibilities as two people strive to find their mates and stay in love forever. Although there may not be a “one and only” for everyone, this is a story about two forever partners who put the Lord first and then create an earthly relationship that becomes eternal and satisfying for them both." **Sigh** Now ladies doesn't that just make your heart swoon?! I love love this book!
#2:: Anita Stansfield
I've recently just stumbled upon her books, 2 weeks ago lol. So far I've only read 3 of her books. She is, like Rachel Ann Nunes, also an LDS author and I can't wait to read all of her books (eventually). I'm currently reading her "Gables of Legacy" Series
and I just love it. I'm almost finished with book 3 of 6 haha. My heart goes out to the characters in this series and I feel "connected" to them in a way (dare I say). My heart warms when I read these books and learn about their lives and their growth in the church. I've learned so much through these books.
And lastly but not least...#3::
The Scriptures.
I got this set for my 15th birthday. I remember begging my parents for a long time for my own set of beautiful blue scriptures with the tabs and my name. When my birthday finally rolled around I got to open up these beauties. They have gotten quite a bit of wear and tear through the years, I've marked them up so much that the pages are all cramped and it's hard to write anymore. So Blake promised me that we can go pick some new ones out with my new name sometime soon. I can't tell you how giddy I am at that thought!
Recently I've spent many hours reading them (mainly D&C) and I can't tell you how much I've learned. I used to just skim through and read them just because that's what I was supposed to do. I never learned anything from my reading because I never took the time. Well, Lynell
lent me this wonderful book, and oh how it has helped me!
It breaks down each verse and it points out all the doctrine. I had NO idea how much doctrine could be found it one "simple" little section. After I read the section I go back and type up all the doctrine, print them out and then glue them into my scriptures so I don't forget.
I'm amazed out how much direction and guidance the Lord left in these books to help us through this life. I'm so grateful for the Scriptures, they've helped me through some hard times lately. They've guided me through so much and they have helped me build a stronger testimony. My love for my scripture is at great as my love for my church/religion. It's nice to have something to turn to when things seem to be not as blissful and bewildered. Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me such a wonderful road map to this thing we call life!
That's about it! I have MANY MANY more books that I just love but if I were to have a certain few in my library collection my scripture and the ones by these authors would be them! Now, I am going to go carve pumpkins with my spouse and call it a goooood night!!
-good night!
Xoxo:: me!
Oh yeah!! One more book... Oh, the places you'll go!
By Dr. Seuss! My Aunt Lori gave me this book for my birthday when I was younger and I've loved it ever since! It is so uplifting and encouraging! Who doesn't have a childhood book that they just love dearly?!
