BEST BABY I'VE EVER HAD

i adore my Mac

My sweet sweet Husband spoiled me and took me to Best Buy 

yesterday and surprised me with an iMac

it's gorgeous and i'm amazed. I've been wanting one for a 
loooonnnngggg time now, I sold my scooter last year in exchange for 
one, but that fell threw and I ended up not getting one. As soon as 
school started this semester I think Blake started getting
frustrated when I didn't stop complaining about my slow laptop with
a busted battery. I used my online classes as an excuse for my 
need for a new computer.... He 'fell' for it, and now I'm rollin' with a new baby.
**wink, wink** 

I haven't spent to much time with it though, only because I've been spending time with my love, building muscle... Yeah that's right, muscle.  My Mom gave Blake and I a bedroom set and we spent most of yesterday bringing it all upstairs into our room. I have family coming down to visit on the 11th and so we needed to get living conditions in order. While Blake was at work I moved our queen size bedroom set into the guest room and when he got home we moved our new king size set into our room. It's beautiful! Our room looks like a completely different place! While we were up North we bought a new bed set from IKEA and we put all of it together last night, it's gray, white and a touch of color... It's coming along quite nicely. I love coming home after a long day of work and relaxing in my new room with my Hubby. It's slowly becoming my sanctuary, my place of harbor.  

This morning after getting ready I ran over to the bank and helped Blake clean because he was having inspections done today. That was at 4. I then had work at 6 and luckily I got off at 12 because work was pretty slow. I came home, sauntered upstairs and found Blake taking a nap. I curled up beside my best friend and took one of the best naps of my life. I was woken up 3 hours later and Blake took me to the doctors office, got some medicine to get rid of my stomach bug , dinner at Wingers; complete with Concrete Pie, and then to Sportsmans to get some feathers for my jewelry. Now here we are retreated to our sanctuary. [[he let me slip away to write a post and order some things for my store while he watches Jazz game lol]] It's nice being here. In my home, in my room, with Blake... My family, OUR family. and so for now, i'm going to turn off my new baby and go spend time with MY best friend.

The Big Move!

Blake and I MOVED!!!!


Last Wednesday Blake and I went and looked at a 3 bed 2 1/2 bath town home up in the Santa Clara area. We liked it quite a bit, all the walls were freshly painted (not white!) and the kitchen was just refinished with new cabinets, wood floor and new tile. All the bedrooms are located upstairs and the family, dining, laundry, and kitchen are downstairs. It's the perfect layout. One of the only problems was the fact that the Landlords didn't want to have any pets in the house. Blake and I were pretty bummed at first but when we showed the landlord a picture of our Fox Linda said she would be allowed and Blake and I could move in the following day! 


Thursday, Blake and I gave our notice and started packing. Friday, Scott and Marc came over and helped with all the big furniture (the stuff my whimpy arms can't move lol). Later that night Missy, Nessa, and my FOXIE showed up in town! Blake and I called it a night at Pine Valley and headed to our new humble abode :) 


Missy and Ness were only able to be here until Monday but they helped loads and we had fun. Antique shopping, consignment shopping, Amanda D and her brother Thomas came over Sunday and we had dinner and watched the superbowl. My family is hilarious and it's always a good time when they visit! We were sad to say good bye but I know we'll be seeing them soon, so until then sistas! I love you girls!!!


Since then there has been a lot of packing, moving, unpacking, playing, putting away. packing, moving, packing, etc, etc... Now we're out of the Pine Valley completely and nestled into our new place. Being here is amazing! Most mornings go like this; wake up with the Fox at the foot of our bed, or next to Blakes face lol, go clean the back, come home to our over the top excited pup, eat some breakfast, then we bundle up and head out on a wonderful morning walk on the trail right behind our place! The trail is pretty cool, it's right next to a stream and some mornings Blake and I get to watch ducks and our friend little Beaver friend work on his house. Then we come home eat some doughnuts and play with Foxie until work. :)


Foxie is such a bright light in our life. It's always nice to come home from an exhausting day of work to a little puppy that literally freaks out for 20 minutes by the fact that 'you're home and it's time to snuggle!' She runs in a billion circles around you and her tail wags non stop. She makes Blake and I laugh constantly! haha She is such a great little addition to our family. 

Now that we have our Fox back our next step is... college!! And boy let me tell ya... Filling out fafsa papers is noooo fun! But we WILL get it done and we WILL start college this year! **woot woot!!** 


But until then I have a lot more unpacking to do and work to get ready for. Don't worry folks, I'll post pictures soon!

Christmas Joys

Saying Christmas was awesome this year is a serious understatement! Blake and I got some gooood stuff from Santa, family, and each other. 

all the blue/penguin/girly presents are to me from Santa/Blake... I got spoiled! The shiny ones on the left are to Blake from me minus some that I hid from him. 

I sadly didn't get any pictures of the presents being opened but I got some of the damage after they were all opened and boy was it a mess!

  Oh don't worry, there was more wrappings in the kitchen. I was a lucky girl the next day, when I woke up, Blake had it all cleaned up :) sweeeett.

Blake got two special gifts from me some new Kobe shoes,

 (because I made him ruin his old ones when we went and cut down our Christmas tree. I wore his big boots because I forgot mine :s So he had to wear his nikes.)

 I was super excited to give him his Kobe's because they were the last ones sold by Nike in his size, anywhere. Seriously. They came alllllll the way from Kittery Maine! 

His next gift was a geeetar!! Whaat!

I love it, and better yet.... so does he! He got some nice accessories to go with it. I love listening to him play it. (we're going to start a band but shhhhh.... it's a secret for now). The goal is to get another guitar and jam together! But for now listening to him play is just as nice. He got some other little gifts like jerrrrkkkyy, candy, body wash, etc, etc.

On to me!

I got super spoiled. For times sake I'm only going to list my top 3 favorite gifts.

1: New Scriptures!

My parents bought me my own set of scriptures for my 15th birthday and as you can guess through all that seminary and church and mutual, they got pretty banged up and written all over to the point that I could barely read them. Since I'm starting this new chapter in my life, I asked Blake for new scriptures with my new name! They're gorgeous and I've already put them to good use with my crayola colored pencils! 

2: A Silhouette SD!
This gift, I kind of saw coming. I mean, I asked and asked and asked. It was on the top of both Christmas lists I wrote and I have been talking about it since August.  This is by far one of the coolest crafting machines! 

 

Along with my Silhouette I got some vinyl, sketch pens and gift cards for their online store. I haven't done to much with my machine yet but I have done some little things here and there. I'm kind of hesitant to use the vinyl on our walls because I don't want to waste it if we're just going to be moving :s good thing I'm learning patience right?! Also the software is kind of hard to use but I'll figure it our eventually. All I know is that this machine is pure bliss!

3: A Sewing Machine!!

Now, this was a complete surprise!! and I love it! When I unwrapped my present my heart just dropped and I immediately took it out of the box! After we had everything put away and the family room all cleaned up I went straight to my craft room and started cleaning organizing and scheming. Then I hit walmart and got yards and yards of $1.50 fabric. My sewing machine was from Blake and Scott and Lynell and it's perfect!

  

Along with my sewing machine I got some awesome sewing supplies like my Gingher scissors, a rotary cutter, a cutting matt and some other sewing stuff.
The first thing I did with my sewing machine was this 'imagine' set I've been working on for quite some time now. It turned out just how I had imagined lol and it sure does look lovely in my little craft room :)[[Thanks Brenna and Kylee for helping me spray paint those frames!]]

 Next thing I made was this little apron and oven mitt set for my little niece Brookyln.

Along with her little set I made a picture using my silhouette to hang in her little kitchen

Blake and I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas! We spent a lot of time with his family and we spent a lot of time with each other! I've been having lots of fun with my new toys!

Day 13-30! Beat that! haha

Dear You.know.who.you.are,

You most likely don't read my blog which is understandable. So writing some long drawn out letter to you would be pretty pointless. So all I'm going to say our a few things. First, I forgive you. It has taken me a long time to become the person I am today. Before I don't think I would have ever been able to say that, but I have a strong Husband and a very supporting family.  They have taught me that I need to forgive 70x7. Second, It's sad to say but my life is much more bright and happier without your dark shadow hovering above me. Third,  I will always be there for you if you need me. But for now to spare me and my Husband any more heartache I will be distancing myself from you until you have the decency to treat me and my loved ones with respect. Lastly, I love you and I always will. You hold a very important part in my heart and I am grateful for all the happy moments we have been able to share. I hope you watch after yourself and take care. Be safe and know that you are loved by me. You are always in my prayers.

-My Number one goal right now is to get sealed to my Husband for time and all eternity. Roughly 112 more days! Every morning I wake up and thats the first thing to go throw my mind. I will be blissfully happy on that day!

-Eventually buy a house, just a little one (where the walls can be painted lol)

Anything that comes out of a book works pretty great! lol I'm still no master at cooking :s although I am learning slowly with my cooking book that Gran gave me. When I master a recipe, I'll put it up! How's that sound??

• **Something you're proud of in the past few days**

Ok ok this is going to sound SOO lame but lately Blake and I have been going to work around 5:30 am  instead of 10:00 pm and it is a huge deal to me! The past couple months I haven't had work until later in the day so I usually got up around 9-10ish so waking up a whole 4-5 hours earlier kind of makes me happy. I spend the rest of the day full of energy and I'm actually tired when I go to bed rather then my usual tossing and turning, restless nights. I see a good tradition taking place right about now. Lets hope it stays this way huh?!

Day 22 — A website

I've gotten some awesome stuff from that site my tables in my craft room, my blue dressers, my rocking chair, my papasan chairs, and quite a bit more. It's nice being able to decorate my house for little to practically nothing and still love the turn out! Hopefully the good finds don't end there!

• **what makes you different from everyone else**

Oh... hmm... I guess what makes me most different from everyone else is mostly the fact that I was the lucky gal that got Blake Thompson. So that means I have something special that stands above the rest! right?! lol Other then that I'm not sure what else makes me different. Maybe just the fact that I'm EXTREMELY lucky! and truly blessed! I got a great family on BOTH sides and I can honestly say No One has family quite like mine! it makes me unique *BIG.GRIN!* Family... You guys keep doin what ya doin! Makin me look good ;)

Day 24 — something you crave for a lot 

mmmm... Frosted Flakes, it's an addiction! Along that line any kind of fruit, and juice. I'm a sucker for juice. 

• **why are you doing this 30 day challenge**

Well I originally started this challenge to try and pick up the habit of blogging consistently which turned into an epic fail so now I'm just finishing it up so I can say to myself that I at least accomplished it! I guess that's ok with me.

Day 25 — Your day, in great detail
Um... well today wasn't very eventful. Seriously. I woke up around 5:45 went to the bank with Blake and cleaned. Came home and spent some hours cuddling with Blake then said goodbye to him so he could go to his doctors appointment. While he was gone I did some decorating while I watched a Christmas show. Did some cleaning, did some dishes, did some laundry, etc. Got ready for my day. Talked to some friends from high school which was great. Watched Haley and Ali for a couple of hours, talked to Blake on the phone, did some online Christmas shopping for him. Gave our very lively tree some water, now I am blogging and then it will be bed. perfect.

Day 26 — Your week, in great detail.
eek! I don't even remember!
29: Drove home from Orem and loved saying Hello to my Husband! Spent some time with him.
30: Woke up at 5:30 went to the bank and cleaned, came home, cleaned, decorated!
1: Woke up at 5:30 went to the bank and cleaned, went home and relaxed, went to work at Pelican Hills cleaning, Blake picked me up and surprised me with some delicious Hot Chocolate, we went and got our tree, got stuck, got unstuck x3, went and bought decorations, got home and spent the night decorating our tree together while we listened to wonderful Christmas music! 
2: Woke up at 5:30 went to the bank and cleaned, worked on a gift for a baby shower, went to work nannying, came home and worked on the gift some more, cleaned, and hung out with Blake.
3: Woke up at 5:30 went to the bank and cleaned, hung out with Blake, baby sat, the end.
4: Woke up at 5:30 went to the bank and cleaned, came home, worked on the gift some more, wrapped it, got ready and headed to a friends baby shower (which was greatly enjoyed), hung out with Holly, babysat, went to the Dickens festival with Blake, went home, relaxed, movie, bed.
5: Woke up, went to church, came home, rested with the husband!
6: Today was stated above, no need to repeat myself.

Day 30 — in this past month, what have you learned
Oh man, I have learned SO much in the past month. I have learned a lot of patience. My Husband will always love me no matter how rude, short tempered, emotional and unfair I am being. I have learned to be extremely grateful for Blakes patience for me. As long as I am grateful for what I have I'll be truly happy. Curbs are not nice when you run into them :s My family is a true blessing all of them, I've learned that the Lord has blessed me with great sister in laws, Clenece, Thank you! You have no idea how much I appreciated having that talk with you!!! The saying "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise" is true! Who would have thought?? Nursery is a blast but it sure wears you out. Going to bed with a heater on makes me wake up with a really really sore throat. $10 awesome winter boots on black friday make my feet happy! Christmas music is the best! breakfast is great any time of day. And good friends will always be there. (Thank you Becky and Holly, you two are awesome and I'm glad to have met you and have the opportunity to get to know you both so well!) No matter how sad I am Blake is always there to pick up my pieces and make me happy again. Prayer never fails. The Lord will never quit on me.

Pillows

I've been sick for the past couple of days and today I decided it would be best if I just stayed down and not wear myself out. At first it sounded like a great idea, but then after 20 minutes I started to feel restless so I decided to blog a bit to push away boredom. I have quite a bit to catch up on so might as well do start now right?? Get ready... My goal is to finish the last half of the 30 day challenge I started more than 30 days ago, to finish posting about my trip to California and to catch up on little adventures here and there before I go to bed today! So... Lets begin!!

Last month I worked on a little project to try and brighten up our family room. Blake and I bought some fabric a while back to reupholster some chairs with.

The chairs ended up sitting in our garage and the fabric was in our hall closet forgotten. One day I was putting the towels away when I noticed the fabric and decided something needed to be done with it. I pulled it out of the closet and then it sat on our couch for another week before I finally decided to turn it into some pillowcases!

I LOVE how they turned out! Even better news?? Blake said they even look like pillowcases that you would buy from the store! Yes! I have yet to take a picture of them on my couch because they look funny with our red leather couches lol but I will take a picture eventually!

I promise...

I promise to catch up on all my blogging one of these days! I'm sorry I've been slacking, but guess what... I actually got a life! Ha ha! beat that! Instead of moping around the house all day feeling worthless until my Hubby got home, I got a job! 2 actually! and as a result I have very little if any time to blog. But I promise, when I'm not running around like a mad woman working 11 hour shifts a day I will get something posted. But until then, just enjoy this picture of our new WONDERFUL papasan chair that I just love to pieces! My Sister (in law) Amber has a chair just like ours only with a red cushion and when we went to Cali I fell in love with it! SO when I saw one on craigslist for only 15 (FIFTEEN!!) dollars Blake and I hopped all over it! Now, it has a new home in our family room where my butt has already started to leave an imprint in the seat! It cradles me SO nicely!

P.s. At Pier 1 the chair and the base cost $80.00 and then the chair cushion ranges anywhere from $60-90 dollars so Blake and I got a STEAL! Every day after work I come home and relax in my chair. It's love!

WE PASSED!

.... Inspections that is! Well it's probably not that big of a deal but to me, it is. I spent SO much time cleaning and scrubbing and trying to make it look nice that when we saw the little green paper on our table I couldn't help but smile and laugh a little. I even went through my whole entire closet and threw away all my old clothes and folded and reorganized all my nice ones. Trust me... that took awhile. I did all of the laundry that started to pile up in our hall that seemed never ending and I folded it all and put it away. The dishes were cleaned and put away and every thing looked nice and tidey! It's so nice having a clean home. I think I'll try to keep it clean more often! Well, just thought I'd share my good news with all of you! Another post to come! Love:: Kathy Thompson

Inspections :s

Ah I'm terrible! I was supposed to post a billion days ago, satuday to be exact after I cleaned up my house but I forgot! Oh and I didn't even get my house cleaned :s BUT I did get it cleaned today!! Just in time for inspections :) My husband helped A LOT! First he tackled the family room While I tackled the bathroom and our room. Then while I was at work he cleaned the kitchen and did ALL of our dishes!! rinsed them, loaded them, and then put them away! When I came home from work I got to see his lovely surprise! It was awesome having one less thing to clean. Then last night while he cleaned the carpet in the family room and the hall I did laundry and took care of ALL our clothes! Now I have an extremly organized closet and he has extremly organized drawers, (I get the closet because the amount of clothes I have is so overwhelming that their was no room for any of Blakes belongings. Besides a few shoes. lol.) I also tackled MY spare bedroom and Blake tackled his! Now... our WHOLE house is clean and I get to go through and take pictures of everything before it becomes messy again. Hopefully it won't but we'll see how long it stays clean. Huh?! Well, I decided since my posts are SO long more then half the time that I was going to break down each post by Catagories, so they're not all as long and you can pick and choose which posts you'd like to read :) This one is about Inspections that are going on today, *barf* the next one will be pictures of my house and after that we'll hit my weekend in Orem/Birthday. Family Room and a craft

I orginally wanted to put all the pictures of my house up at one time but I'm finding it REALLY hard to keep my WHOLE house clean at once! It's actually pretty ridiculous haha. So I decided as I clean the rooms I will take pictures. Last night I was able to clean our family room. I wish we're able to keep the whole house clean at one time but for some reason it is really difficult for us lol. Today I hope to work on the kitchen and get those dirty dishes out of the sink and into the dishwasher! Let's see how that goes right?! Anyways... Here is our family room that I love SO much!I really like my family room, it's simple but still has room to grow! That little basket next to the table is my SHOE BASKET! For some reason I think shoe baskets are great. I love it. It's perfect! Blake's not a big fan though haha I'll come home from work to find it in one of the guest bedrooms haha no big though... I just move it back ;) I love being able to place my shoes in there instead of having them all over the house to trip on when you're fumbling to the kitchen at night. I love how "clean" it looks.

I got these love picture frames from Blake for Valentines Day and I LOVE it! Yeah, it did take a month or two to finally get up on the wall but HEY it's up now and it looks GREAT!! Yeah, I realized the "LOVE" is crooked but I didn't figure that out until after I uploaded the pictures to my computer. It was late and I am lazy so, I didn't fix it and take another one lol. enjoy :P

Also... I know there are no pictures in the frames yet but we're working on that haha. We have SO many pictures of Blake and I floating around our house that we want to fill these ones with pictures of our hobbies and our loved ones :)

The lamp is one of my favorite things in this room. Blake and I got it for only $15.00! We stumbled upon it in Vegas while we were on our honeymoon, I instantly fell in love with it and Blake let me buy it. I think it fits quite well in our little house.

The curtains. Ya... we splurged on the curtains. Well... Blake splurged on the curtains lol he LOVES these curtains. They were about 70-80$ in the end. We got them at bed, bath and beyond. Although they were spendy I really like them. It was hard to find curtains that matched the green we had in mind. So when we saw these one we HAD to get them. Plus we had SO many gift cards to bed, bath and beyond, from our wedding so we ended up not having to pay anything. We wanted to get stuff we really liked and we REALLY liked these so we bought them! Lastly, this is just our little table that matches our coffee table and side table. It fit's our pictures perfectly. Don't mind the dishes on the bottom lol those are supposed to be at D.I. (3 months ago) lol I'll get around to it sooner or later :)

Well... That is all of our lovely family room! Hopefully we'll be able to get a new tv and/or tv stand soon! I honestly don't mind my huge block tv lol the only problem is it's SO DARN HEAVY! Haha it probably weights twice as much as me, plus some! So instead of doing something with it, it stays right there. on the floor. where I have no lifting to do. And I'm just fine with that! haha Anyways... No... I am not done with this post! I still have the "AND A CRAFT" part to write on haha but I promise I won't write to much on it :)

HERE WE GO!!... When I first moved in (without Blake) my house seemed so depressing, so lonely and quite, which is why he bought me my little Foxie Fox. Then we got married and my Fox had to move to Orem. Even though Blake was here when he went to work I was still so bored and lonely so I had to do something to occupy my time and my mind. That is when I started REALLY getting into crafty projects :) Since Blake and I are currently renting, painting the white drabby walls in not an option for us and neither is applying wallpaper. Major no no. SO, I had to come up with something that I could easily put on the wall and easily take off the wall without ever leaving a trace that it once was there. And so along came my "wallpaper but not really wallpaper" idea..

Wa-laa! So the directions and basics of this project was pretty simple, it was just really time consuming (which I guess is perfect for me.) It consist of fabric, fabric pencils, scissors, tape, a paint brush and a corn startch glue like solution that I made but forgot how I made it lol First I picked my fabric, I got about a yard of the green, less than half of the yellow and half a yard of the black. All the fabric cost me less than $4.00 plus the fabric pencils for $1.50 plus the paint brush $.98 and the corn startch for I don't remember haha I got all the items home, ironed them, made the glue solution and then tested a small patch of each fabric in the corner of the wall to make sure the color wouldn't bleed onto my walls. After all of those gruesome steps (and I'm not even to the hard part lol). I laid the fabric out on my table and hand drew the flowers and cut them out. I drew one petal and cut it out and then another and then so on and so forth.After having the first flower cut out, I taped the flower to the wall where I wanted it to be. After It looked right I mixed up the solution again, laid the fabric "face" down on top of a magazine and painted it with glue. I got all the drippy glue off and placed it on the wall where I felt fit. I made sure to smooth out the fabric so there were no air bubbles and I wiped away all the fugitive drips. After about 3 hours a day for 2-3 days I was all done! I finished both the flowers and started on the leaves and then I ended up going up to Orem for my sisters graduation and when I came back Blake had cleaned up the HUGE mess I made and along with that discarded my "glue solution" so instead of adding stems which was my orginal plan I just left it as it was. Which I'm also okay with. I didn't want to waste anymore time on it either because since Blake and I are moving soon it's gonna be taken down. Bummer. But hopefully I'll be able to find a place for it at our new place right?!?! This is the finished project. I'm pretty proud of myself and I like the way it turned out :) When I re figure out the solution I hope to do more stuff like this in the other rooms, even though I'm not very good at free hand drawing. We'll see though! P.s. I really like the butterfly, even though it's girly i think it's cute :)
