Family Room and a craft

I orginally wanted to put all the pictures of my house up at one time but I'm finding it REALLY hard to keep my WHOLE house clean at once! It's actually pretty ridiculous haha. So I decided as I clean the rooms I will take pictures. Last night I was able to clean our family room. I wish we're able to keep the whole house clean at one time but for some reason it is really difficult for us lol. Today I hope to work on the kitchen and get those dirty dishes out of the sink and into the dishwasher! Let's see how that goes right?! Anyways... Here is our family room that I love SO much!I really like my family room, it's simple but still has room to grow! That little basket next to the table is my SHOE BASKET! For some reason I think shoe baskets are great. I love it. It's perfect! Blake's not a big fan though haha I'll come home from work to find it in one of the guest bedrooms haha no big though... I just move it back ;) I love being able to place my shoes in there instead of having them all over the house to trip on when you're fumbling to the kitchen at night. I love how "clean" it looks.

I got these love picture frames from Blake for Valentines Day and I LOVE it! Yeah, it did take a month or two to finally get up on the wall but HEY it's up now and it looks GREAT!! Yeah, I realized the "LOVE" is crooked but I didn't figure that out until after I uploaded the pictures to my computer. It was late and I am lazy so, I didn't fix it and take another one lol. enjoy :P

Also... I know there are no pictures in the frames yet but we're working on that haha. We have SO many pictures of Blake and I floating around our house that we want to fill these ones with pictures of our hobbies and our loved ones :)

The lamp is one of my favorite things in this room. Blake and I got it for only $15.00! We stumbled upon it in Vegas while we were on our honeymoon, I instantly fell in love with it and Blake let me buy it. I think it fits quite well in our little house.

The curtains. Ya... we splurged on the curtains. Well... Blake splurged on the curtains lol he LOVES these curtains. They were about 70-80$ in the end. We got them at bed, bath and beyond. Although they were spendy I really like them. It was hard to find curtains that matched the green we had in mind. So when we saw these one we HAD to get them. Plus we had SO many gift cards to bed, bath and beyond, from our wedding so we ended up not having to pay anything. We wanted to get stuff we really liked and we REALLY liked these so we bought them! Lastly, this is just our little table that matches our coffee table and side table. It fit's our pictures perfectly. Don't mind the dishes on the bottom lol those are supposed to be at D.I. (3 months ago) lol I'll get around to it sooner or later :)

Well... That is all of our lovely family room! Hopefully we'll be able to get a new tv and/or tv stand soon! I honestly don't mind my huge block tv lol the only problem is it's SO DARN HEAVY! Haha it probably weights twice as much as me, plus some! So instead of doing something with it, it stays right there. on the floor. where I have no lifting to do. And I'm just fine with that! haha Anyways... No... I am not done with this post! I still have the "AND A CRAFT" part to write on haha but I promise I won't write to much on it :)

HERE WE GO!!... When I first moved in (without Blake) my house seemed so depressing, so lonely and quite, which is why he bought me my little Foxie Fox. Then we got married and my Fox had to move to Orem. Even though Blake was here when he went to work I was still so bored and lonely so I had to do something to occupy my time and my mind. That is when I started REALLY getting into crafty projects :) Since Blake and I are currently renting, painting the white drabby walls in not an option for us and neither is applying wallpaper. Major no no. SO, I had to come up with something that I could easily put on the wall and easily take off the wall without ever leaving a trace that it once was there. And so along came my "wallpaper but not really wallpaper" idea..

Wa-laa! So the directions and basics of this project was pretty simple, it was just really time consuming (which I guess is perfect for me.) It consist of fabric, fabric pencils, scissors, tape, a paint brush and a corn startch glue like solution that I made but forgot how I made it lol First I picked my fabric, I got about a yard of the green, less than half of the yellow and half a yard of the black. All the fabric cost me less than $4.00 plus the fabric pencils for $1.50 plus the paint brush $.98 and the corn startch for I don't remember haha I got all the items home, ironed them, made the glue solution and then tested a small patch of each fabric in the corner of the wall to make sure the color wouldn't bleed onto my walls. After all of those gruesome steps (and I'm not even to the hard part lol). I laid the fabric out on my table and hand drew the flowers and cut them out. I drew one petal and cut it out and then another and then so on and so forth.After having the first flower cut out, I taped the flower to the wall where I wanted it to be. After It looked right I mixed up the solution again, laid the fabric "face" down on top of a magazine and painted it with glue. I got all the drippy glue off and placed it on the wall where I felt fit. I made sure to smooth out the fabric so there were no air bubbles and I wiped away all the fugitive drips. After about 3 hours a day for 2-3 days I was all done! I finished both the flowers and started on the leaves and then I ended up going up to Orem for my sisters graduation and when I came back Blake had cleaned up the HUGE mess I made and along with that discarded my "glue solution" so instead of adding stems which was my orginal plan I just left it as it was. Which I'm also okay with. I didn't want to waste anymore time on it either because since Blake and I are moving soon it's gonna be taken down. Bummer. But hopefully I'll be able to find a place for it at our new place right?!?! This is the finished project. I'm pretty proud of myself and I like the way it turned out :) When I re figure out the solution I hope to do more stuff like this in the other rooms, even though I'm not very good at free hand drawing. We'll see though! P.s. I really like the butterfly, even though it's girly i think it's cute :)

A lot of catching up and a LOT of pictures!

So life has been filled with lots of ups and downs lately. But for the most part it's still REALLY good. let’s start with the downs (not very many) so we can end on a good note shall we?? :)

1: This one could very easily become an “up” but as of right now, it’s a down. My family is going to Lake Powell on Saturday and Blake and I REALLY want to go. The end.

2: Although I DO get to see my Fox this weekend, I do NOT get to bring her home. YET. The end.

3: After a LOT of time price matching sewing machines and trying to find the best kinds. I have decided that a 600 dollar sewing machine is not what I need right now, (OR a 200 dollar one for that fact). I mean don’t get me wrong I would still LOVE a sewing machine but I just can’t bring myself to spending that much money on myself, or period. 600 dollars is a whole months worth of bills! It’s MORE than a whole months worth of bills! I want a sewing machine, just not as bad as I thought I did. Soooo I am not getting one right now and I am personally fine with that. The end.

4: I have a very messy house right now and I want it clean. The end.

5: Lately I have been having HORRIBE nightmares. Like to the point where Blake has to wake me up because I am bawling, therefore causing me not to fall asleep until well after 4-6 in the morning making me very ornery during the day. I would very much like them to stop. The end.

6: My neighbors gave Blake and I a baby quail that kept hopping into their house, we named him Nigel. We tried to let him go but he sat at our door step for HOURS, literally. So we brought him inside and tried to take care of him. The first couple days he did great with eating and drinking, but then he just stopped. He didn’t last very long, he was just a little guy. Maybe a little bit bigger then a gum ball. He is in a better place now, I just miss his little tweets and the bouncy little fur ball. The end.

We kept him warm by letting him lay on heated water bottles. He would get so comfy and spread out on the bottle with his little wings draped down the side! I loved it! But he moved before I could take a better picture.

Alright now forget the fact that I have a double chin in this picture. ok... Now that we're past that... Look at how cute he is!! All snuggled up with me! I didn't ever want to leave the house!

Well... I believe that is all of the "downs" in my life so far. Not anything to bad right?? All do-able. I'm lucky to have such a blessed life :)

NOW... The time we've all been waiting for... The Ups!! All the new news and great moments in my life as of today... Read on!

1: Blakes toe is getting WAY better! The doctor at the hospital put in a fake toenail to protect the stitches on his nail bed and once the numbing went away Blake said he could feel the fake toenail grinding under his skin. ew. After a lot of trying to convince him not to remove it, the moment I go back to work I receive a video of him removing the fake toenail. HA! I laughed SO hard! This boy just has a complete mind of his own, and if he wants that toenail out… It’s gonna be out!

2: Blake and I got some bed lifts for our bed.  They’re pretty awesome! They raise the bed a whole 5 inches! It makes our room feel THAT much more comfy and it makes our bed look THAT much nicer! There is now roughly 13 inches under our bed and the top of our bed is roughly 34 inches from the ground. It’s SO nice. Also a plus along with this plus… Blake likes the bed lifts as well so it makes me a lot happier!

The bed set was a gift to Blake and I from my Gram. I love the colors of it and all the matching pillows The comforter is perfect for when it's cold, (or when Blake has the fan on high all night). Thanks Gram!!

Please don't mind the mismatching bedskirt at the bottom. I am working on getting a new one. I just didn't like seeing underneath my bed haha. The boogey monster needs SOME place to hide!

This is our summer quilt, my wonderful Aunts and my Grandma made this for Blake and I for our wedding gift. It's perfect for the hot nights here in Saint George!

(This is our room not even 5 minutes after I spent hours rearranging and cleaning it. Lol I promise you, keeping it clean for any longer then 5 minutes is record time for Blake and I haha)

3: I finished all the laundry that needed to be done. As well as folding it and tomorrow I will put them all away once I organize my closet and his drawers. That alone I think I deserve a pat on the back lol.

This is only one of the baskets of folded clothes there are about 4-5 more baskets...

...and two whole couches full.

4: Blake and I got a sandwich grill. It is divine. I’m in love. It completes me (Or something along those lines.) Last night Blake made me a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and today I made myself a peanut butter and jelly grilled sandwich and tomorrow I’ll probably make some other grilled sandwich. I know I will never be disappointed with the outcome.

5: Since we got Netflix we have become avid Lost watchers. I’m not talking 1 episode a night. I’m talking 3 or 4 sometimes 5, resulting in actual sleep around 1 or 2 sometimes 4 in the morning. We’re both addicted to knowing what becomes of the abandoned airplane passengers. The end of the show can’t come soon enough.

6: Blake and I are heading down to Orem today for the weekend and also so I can celebrate my birthday with my family  Because we all know, today is my birthday! Yay. It’s weird because I feel like just the other day it was my birthday but in all actuality that was really a year ago. Oh how time flies! I’m really grateful because since we are driving to Orem with Blakes parents they really didn’t have to leave Saint George until Saturday but they’re leaving a day early just so I’ll be able to spend some time with my family. They truly are GREAT! I couldn’t ask for better in-laws!

7: It’s my birthday

8: The other day Blake took me birthday shopping and I got some pretty awesome gifts! Although I didn’t get a sewing machine, I was able to get some other great gifts. Including my AMAZING new beautiful blue, thin soled vans that I have been dying to own since last year! Lol boy am I one spoiled girl **wink**

9: I have a wonderful husband that loves me oh so dearly, a husband that takes GREAT care of me and a husband that tells me how important I am to him daily. His love for me makes my life more wonderful every day.

10: I got a new laptop, which will always be a plus. My Mom Reyna is moving to Peru with my little sister and Jose on June 12th. She’ll be gone for six+ months. Since she’ll be gone for Christmas all of us got our Christmas presents early this year… Laptops! Dun du dun! I love having one. My life is a lot more intriguing with one. I love being able to rest up on the couch for a few hours and look at all the wonderful creative things I can’t wait to do around my house. Hopefully I’ll post more on that later.

11: Um… My house is a mess but I am not caring about it right now because Blake told me I don’t have to. Now all I have to do is pack. *ugh* I hate packing. I always pack either WAY to much or not enough. Either way, I’m still screwed in the long run. But hey, at least I don’t have to worry about my messy house right?!

12: I get to see my FOXIE this weekend!!! I cannot wait to hold my little companion in my arms again! I have missed her lickies SOoooO bad! I can’t wait to pet her and snuggle up with her at night! Oh how divine.

13: Last Sunday Blakes family came over to our house because it was our turn for dessert and we had some ice cream with some delicious funfetti cupcakes that I made, (yes, they came from a box but hey, they tasted good so I think I deserve some sort of pat on the back don’t I? haha)

I'm SO good that I even "swirled" the frosting! I was pretty excited haha.

Mckenna and Kaden! My two little buddies! Every time they come over they ALWAYS want to just hang out with me. It makes me feel so loved. Especially when its to the point where they'd do anything to be by my side... Like help me with the dishes :] 14: I got to spend Memorial Day with my husband and his family at Gran and Grandads, where we had wonderful ribs, corn, rolls, roasted pineapples’, and yummy watermelon! Mmmm! P.s. that flower in my hair is from my handsome nephew Kaden, (oh how I greatly I love my nieces and nephews!)

Yummy!

So the past couple of weeks Blake and I have had NO food in our pantry. Well no food that we could make a legit meal out of, so the other night we went, SHOPPING!! Let me first tell you how much I love grocery shopping with Blake. He is SO funny! I mean I think normally I would be upset about spending hours looking at the back of bacon packages to see which one has the least amount of fat, but with Blake i'm helpless! Haha I can't help but laugh about how precise he is when it comes to little stuff like that :) I was always nervous when I lived in my apartment when it came to shopping. I had to get the smallest carton of milk and heaven forbid I buy eggs because there is no way I could finish off all of them solo. I hated wasting food. Especially now since I have to pay for it and not my parents :p lol But being married to Blake has had it's stress relivers. Like for instance, no more wasted food! YESS! That boy eats SO much food! I don't know where he puts it all! I mean we go through about 2 gallons a WEEK! and maybe if we're lucky we can drag it out to two weeks. MAYBE. haha the amount of cereal Blake eats is unreal. When we go to the store he gets HIS two choices of cereal and I get MY two choices of cereal, but with the rate that he polishes threw the Life and Lucky Charms cereal I'M LUCKY if I even get a few bowls of my Honeycomb or Coco Puffs! Haha (When we pick out our cereals and I'm picking mine, I always pick Coco Puffs because I know Blake LOVES them! Even though he won't pick them out for his choice because he knows I will) So with the cereal aside and practically gone Blake and I were in urgent need of more food supplies! But with his recent foot accident I've been kind of hesitant to leave him at home. I know, I know. It's just a little toe but when Blake texted me and told me he smashed his foot and was heading to the hospital not knowing the extent of the damage, I had no choice but to think the worst. A million things were passing through my mind and I had no idea what I was going to do. The first thing that crossed my mind was to kneel down and pray. I don't think my first instinct for anything was ever to kneel down and pray but this time I felt it hit me like a brick. I knelt down and asked for comfort, I asked the Lord to be with Blake and help him deal with the pain, I asked the Lord to help me stay calm. I know he was with Blake and I that day. When I showed up at the hospital and saw his foot I was totally surprised. Blake was lucky the jumping jack only got his toe. The doctor said it looked like he broke his toe. That he'd be surprised if he didn't. Well we took the x-rays and then got them back. Luckily no broken toe! Blake and I were blessed. The doctor ended up taking off his toenail, stitching the cut underneath it, putting on a fake toenail, bandaging it all up and then sending us on our way. the stitches will be gone in a week-10 days and then after that it shouldn't be much longer until he will be able to get back to work :)I am so thankful for what the Lord did for us Friday. Out of all that could've happen, a toenail and a couple weeks is all the was lost! ANYWAYS, with Blake being injured and me not wanting to leave him at home limping away he came to the store with me :) hahahaha it was the FUNNIEST thing!! He got to use one of those electric cart things and he was having the time of his life peeling out around the corner of the isles and testing the machines speed and agility haha it totally made my day! When all was said and done though we got what we needed and Blake had to say goodbye to his new favorite toy :( but not until he fully drained the battery haha! I am proud to say though after a fun trip to the store we now have a full stocked pantry, fridge and freezer! and I am a HAPPY camper! <3 Well everyone, Stay tuned and find out if I actually cook something ;) I got this wonderful slow cooker from my Sister-in-law Amber and her family and I am really hoping I can muster up some courage to make this meal I've been dying to try!! wish me luck :) ::Thanks for reading!! Going crazy!

I cannot help but believe I am going crazy! I want a sewing machine UBBER bad! (yes... ubber.) Having absolutly nothing to do at home while Blake is gone, (with the exception of knitting my washcloth which is coming along horribly, may I add) leaves me wanting something that I can use forever. I find myself on the Internet browsing the neatest blogs. There are so many creative ladies out there that I can't help myself of being completely envious of their mad sewing skills and their AMAZING projects! I want to be a creative lady :( Which has brought to the conclusion that I MUST pick up sewing! (Along with a sewing machine.) Oh all the things I could sew! I actually believe that I might be good at it too! I like keeping my hands busy. I also like the idea of having MILLIONS of handbags made with different fabrics and different patterns! OH what a happy girl I'd be! I could make a purse like this

Isn't that purse just gorgeous! The lady that originaly created this purse has like a BILLION of these purses in a ton of gorgeous different fabrics! (okay... Maybe not a billion. More like 40. But seriously. 40.) I'm jealous. And who knows, maybe I'll get really good at making these and some of you lucky ladies might get one as a gift. ;). Maybe. So many crafty people and I want to be one of them! Now I know that there are a ton of crafts out there that don't need a sewing machine but I'm past the point of wanting to decorate our home, (I quit after the family room) and I'm now to the point where I want to sew. Now I know, "if wishes were fishes we'd all have a fry" or something like that. But I can't help but hope! I asked Blake if I could get one and he said no. Probably because he thinks if I get one I'll neglect him and spend all my free time with my beautiful machine. Actually I know that's how he feels and I honestly don't blame him. Haha I can barely resist myself when we pass by them at walmart. My 'wants' have officially become my 'needs'. I wonder if there is any way I could sew in bed while Blake and I watch our movies together... Hmmm.... Once again... Going crazy!! BUT!. I think I'm fine with wishing BECAUSE.... My birthday is coming up and when Blake asked me to make my birthday wish list I cleverly put that on the top of my list :) [as well as in the middle and the bottom of my list!] Yes, you can applaud the brilliance behind this plan. I'll let you know how it turned out come the 4th of June ;) *fingers crossed* ANYWAYS... Now my rant is done. I hope you all enjoy listening to me blabber on and on. ::Thanks for reading!!
