I never understood the saying 'stick to what you know', I always figured that if you just sticked to what you just know, how do you learn and grow? How do you develop new skills? I never really liked the saying until a couple weeks ago. When I made this...
The "Teas & Crumpets" apron
Oh boy, don't let the looks deceive you, this is no beauty! Up close there are many things that I wish I did differently.
- I wish I would have put 'darts' (I think that's what they're called) on the top half of the apron so it doesn't look so boxy but maybe next time.
- I wish I wouldn't have rushed so much on the front ruffles so they aren't slanted.
- I wish I would have made the lower half of the apron like the original, I thought the rounded bottom would be easier. It wasn't lol
- and finally, I wish I would have made the waist band a little bit skinnier.
But, after all is said and done, I think I still semi like it. It'll do for my every day non existent cooking ha! I think what I like the most is the colors. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Blue *swoon*
This is the original apron from Anthropology, mine doesn't really look anything like it haha but oh well! it's still A-Oh-Kay! Here are a few more pictures :) What do ya think??
Next time I'll make those ruffles straight
and that waist band a bit skinnier
But I'll keep it just because it looks adorable from this angle!
